Bearings Replacement Parts

Intro: If bearing do not get enough lubrication they will ware over time, many times if there is a screetching noise coming from your spiral it is a bearing failure. Follow your ears to the noise and see which bearing it is coming from this needs to be replaced asap or further system damage WILL occur.

Side guide rollers or UHMW thick flat bumpers, pulleys, and drive sprockets

Intro: since spiral belt is collapsed when it is released from the cage either at the enterance or exit the belt must go from a curved configuration to a straight configuration. Most spirals have a fixed bumper or a side guide set of two rollers to keep the belt tracking inline as it leaves the spiral. This can especially be a issue with freezers as the belt freezes in the curved position it has been tracking in.

It the belt is not guided it will tend to jump off the drive sprockets in the take-up drive. When this occurs the belt will hit the spiral frame and the spiral frame will be cut like a chainsaw creating belt, spiral frame damage, and metal fragments in you product.

UHMW WEAR PROFILES

Intro: These are the ware items that either you belts ride on (track ware strip) or your belt is driven by (cage ware Bars). Track ware strips can not only ware out from friction interface from the belt riding up them but if your belt is not clean the friction of the “dirt” will wear them out prematurely .

The cage drive bars need to be replaced as they will lose drive interface with the belt. A common occurrence is when belt is flipped to preserve belt life the master rods are not all replaced. The master rods are not machine ground and usually have a rough end so when they interface with the cage cut into the UHMW which not only can damage the stainless cage bars under the UHMW but damage the belt , and leave a lot of shaved UHMW on you product as it runs through the spiral.

Spiral Belting

We can provide and also recommend types of replacement or new spiral belting. There are applications where plastic belting is best suited i.e. wide belts or sticky products, and applications for Stainless steel belts i.e products that benefit from more open belting styles or that freeze at a better rate due to a colder contact surface.

Many systems can be converted to plastic from Stainless we would have to look at how the system is built to make a quality recommendation.

Fan inverters:

Background: If you are like most manufacturers you run a wide verity of products through your spiral if it is a freezer or cooler you may not need to run your fan speeds at a constant. For instance a bakery that runs  16 oz loaves will need a higher airspeed then a 2 oz roll to freeze the product. There are energy rebates in many states we can identify and fill out paperwork to in some cases pay for the whole installation.
The savings are very high when you trim the fans back. This occurs on two levels

  1. If  you run your fans at 50% and you have 80 horsepower of fans you save 40 horsepower operational costs
  2. The heat that is created from the friction of the fan blade cutting through the air causes high levels of heat release which has to be absorbed by your refrigeration system. In a freezer we calculate that 40 horsepower will create a average of 11 tons of heat rejection for your refrigeration system to absorb. The average freezer running at -25 room temperature requires a average of 3-4 horsepower per ton to get to the desired temperature. We can calculate that 11 tons will require 40 horsepower at the compressor room to absorb heat rejection of fans.

Above we have identified a way to save 80 horsepower per hour on one line  by trimming fan speed in a freezer .  We can do a audit inverter design for air balance in the room, and provide a panel with required inverters which will link to your PLC for onscreen control and operational menu/recipe screens.
